NEWS
2007 Has been a very busy year for us with ongoing work on customers competition cars and restoration work being constant. We've had our usual wide variety of makes and models through our doors this year, from a Volkswagen Scirocco for a full body restoration to the preparation, painting and running of a works replica alloy TR4 and a 1959 Alfa Guiletta which we've set up and has successfully completed this years Tulip Rally. On servicing and restoration, we have just completed the recommissioning of a 503 Lotus Elite which had lain in a shed for 5 years. Our winter projects include a MK1 Escort, works specification Tarmac Car and a full rebuild of a Lancia Delta Integrale Rally Car.
RACE TRUCK We are pleased with the introduction of our new Artic Race Truck which allows us to transport 3 - 4 customers competition cars to various events. It is already fully booked for the Manx Classic Weekend in April 2008 and we are looking to fill spaces for a 2 Day Track Day at SPA in May 2008 and and a 2 Day Track Day at Nurburgring in June 2008. The Rosythe-Zeebrugge connection means that we can have your car in the heart of Europe in 24 Hours at competitive rates. The truck is complete with workshop, large 40ft by 30ft awning and enough storage space for spare parts for each car.
RACE SEASON 2007 On the Hillclimb and Sprint scene, both Lakefield Classics sponsored cars (Steven Murray-Westfield SEi and Alex Murray-Alfa 147) have had a successful and improving season. Steven has unfortunately had to learn that trees are pretty solid and can hurt when they jump out in front of the car (Doune/April). Steven has taken the 2007 Class Winners Award in the A6 Class (Road Sports Cars over 1800cc) in the Scottish Sprint Championship, and Alex is looking good for the newcomers award. |
